Nitric acid is classified as a hazard class 3 substance. Does not burn, but on contact with combustible materials causes them to ignite. Dangerous for the skin (causes redness), upper respiratory tract, mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, mouth. Work in protective gloves, shoes with thick soles, tight-fitting gloves, thick special clothing. Transport in a covered road or rail transport in glass containers or steel cubes. Store in a ventilated, dry and cool place, protected from direct sunlight, away from flammable substances and food.
