Ammonium persulphate is a substance in the form of colorless crystals. It is obtained by electrolysis of a saturated ammonium sulfate solution in sulfuric acid. In the food industry it is used as an additive, in particular, it improves the quality of flour. The ammonium salt of peroxodisulfuric acid is also used in the production of latex, rubber, plastic, as well as in the processing of printed circuit boards.
Main characteristics: density - 1,982 g / cm3; well soluble in water; stored dry for an unlimited time; decomposition temperature: 120 ° C; in contact with water, releases ozone and oxygen; strong oxidizing agent.

Precautions and Transportation
Ammonium sulfate is fireproof, but contact with flammable substances can cause a fire (due to its good ability to oxidize). When ignited, vapors of toxins are released, and during decomposition, oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, ammonia are formed. The rules for working with the substance are as follows.
First. Its concentration in the air is not allowed above 0.1 mg / m3.
Second. The use of special clothing (gloves, suit, glasses) is mandatory.
Third. The work area should be dry, cool and ventilated. The compound is transported in closed containers separately from substances incompatible with it.
