Zinc sulfate is a crystal-like, colorless powder. It is primarily a zinc-rich fertilizer that many plants need. It is used in the production of reagents, various power sources, paints and varnishes. It is used as protection of wood structures from decay; it is also part of many creams, cleansing face masks. Eye drops and tablets are also made from it.
Storage precautions and advice
Substance of hazard class 2. Flammable and explosive. Causes many small ulcers on contact with skin and adversely affects the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract if inhaled. Handle the substance with protective clothing, gloves, respirator masks and goggles. It is transported in specialized containers, five-layer bags, disposable soft containers in covered modes of transport. Store in a well-ventilated covered area, away from direct sunlight.
