Petroleum road bitumen grades are divided according to BND XX / YY markings. Moreover, XX and YY are the limit indicators of penetration. They are tested using highly thin needles, 0.1 mm in size. Road bitumen is brought to a temperature of +25 and pierced with needles. This indicates the hardness of the BND. A quality product remains impervious and the needles will not pass.
How to choose?
BND 60/90 is used in regions where the temperature does not drop below -20 degrees. At temperatures exceeding this threshold, BND 130/200 is used - this is the most dense road surface that will withstand even Siberian frosts.
For viscous road petroleum bitumen, grade bnd 60/90, a quality certificate is provided with the product.
